Dr. Jessica M. Pisano

About Dr. Pisano

In high school, despite being really good at them, Jessica wondered what real-life application there was for term papers. College and graduate school were filled with more papers, countless experiments and long hours in libraries and labs. Life as a home maker was term-paperless and the experiments were geared toward the explorations of small children. While the pleasures were sweet and simple, the answers to scientific questions were long and involved. Her sons are now old enough to learn more on their own and she needed a new captive audience...

Jessica is currently an Assistant Professor of Biology and Math at Dean College in Franklin, MA. While the students asking the questions are much older than her young sons, she still tries to awaken the same sense of wonder and awe that she found in her boys. Jessica believes that everyone can grasp scientific concepts and learn to apply this logic, order and discipline to daily life, enriching their environmental and personal awareness and expanding their desire to dig for the answers.

When not grading papers or telling bedtime stories, she loves gardening, hiking, biking, baking bread and flopping around with her kids.
